This is a book cover for the story “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman.
When creating this cover, I wanted to give it more of a painterly look to the design to stand out from my other work. I was also very intent on the layering of the subjects, trying to gain a sense of depth through color.
This book cover was made almost entirely in photoshop with slight use of illustrator for the logo and text.
